Welcome to Baby and the Bee: Postpartum Doula Services

MEET THE BEE

My name is BeLinda, though my niece calls me Aunt Bee. I am a postpartum doula in the greater Pittsburgh area that provides compassionate and trauma-informed support to new parents whether this is baby number one or baby ten.

My job is to center your priorities as a parent and help you navigate those first few weeks at home while you adjust to this new addition to your family.

I work through an inclusive, queer, trans and gender affirming, and anti-racist lens.

What is a Postpartum
Doula?

With a newborn the days are long but the weeks are short. Those first days with a newborn can be beautiful — but they can also be overwhelming and exhausting. A postpartum doula provides support to the person who has just given birth to help ease the transition of the new little life you have. This includes:

  • Breastfeeding support

  • Help with the emotional and physical recovery after birth

  • Light housekeeping so that mom does not feel so overwhelmed

  • Running errands

  • Assistance with newborn care such as diapering, bathing, feeding and comforting

  • Light meal preparation

  • Baby soothing techniques

  • Sibling care

  • Referrals to local resources such as parenting classes, pediatricians, lactation support and support groups
